Levy Gorvy VR Experience

During the exhibition “un art autre” that took place in London, spring 2019, Levy Gorvy wished to innovate thanks to state of the art visualization technologies.

To go further than a typical 360° visit with no depth and no freedom of movement, Levy Gorvy trusted our 3D scanning process that enables to produce a high fidelity digital tween of the London gallery that one can freely explore with a virtual reality headset.

The onsite scanning session combined more than 2500 photos and 20 Lidar scan locations. Thanks to Arforia custom photogrammetry process we were allowed to reconstruct, optimize and deploy a high fidelity replication of the real gallery on portable VR devices.

The experience features a complete freedom of movement (6DoF) where the user can get very close to artworks without ever noticing their virtuality. The exhibition’s artworks feature Jean Paul Riopelle or Pierre Soulage masterpieces where material and depth cannot be projected on a 2D surface. For this level of realism, depth and color, Arforia has 3D scanned each of the artworks present in the gallery.
